When is the clinic open?
The clinic is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 0900-1500 h.
No appointments are required and even people with no Alberta Healthcare will be able to receive assistance.
What is the Street Nurse Clinic?
The Street Clinic is a partnership with the RDPCN, Alberta Health Services - Public Health and the Central Alberta Aids Network Society. The Street Nurse started seeing patients in September 2008.
What is a Street Nurse?
The RDPCN Street Nurse is a Nurse Practitioner. A Nurse Practitioner works in the role of a nurse with an expanded scope of practice including diagnosing medical conditions, prescribing certain medications, referring to various specialists and ordering diagnostics.
What is the goal of the Street Nurse Clinic?
The goal of the program is to improve access to primary health care services for vulnerable people in Red Deer's downtown core. The relationship between health services and community support services is a vital link in terms of accessibility and service quality for these vulnerable people. The services of a Nurse Practitioner helps to bridge the gap in the community and provide essential health care services that may not otherwise be readily accessed.

The services provided at the clinic are non-urgent medical concerns, such as:
- Wound care
- Communicable disease control
- Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing
